GOVERNOR RON DESANTIS ANNOUNCES THREE REAPPOINTMENTS

Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the reappointment of Wogan “Wogie” Badcock, Victor Marrero, and Jeffery Jontz and the appointment of William “Will” Spicola to the Statewide Judges of Compensation Claims Judicial Nominating Commission (JCC JNC). The JCC JNC nominates persons for appointment by the Governor to the Judge of Compensation Claims, they also review the performance of each Judge of Compensation Claims at the end of their terms. The JCC JNC is composed of fifteen members, five appointed by the Governor.

William “Will” Spicola Spicola, of Tallahassee, is currently the principal of William Spicola, PA. Previously Will served as General Counsel for Governor Rick Scott. He currently serves on the Florida Bar's Judicial Nominating Procedures Committee and Governmental and Public Policy Advocacy Committee. Spicola will represent the First District Court of Appeal for the remainder of a four-year term ending on June 30, 2021.

Wogan “Wogie” Badcock Badcock, of Mulberry, is currently the Chairman of W.S. Badcock Corporation. Badcock has served as the Chair of the Statewide JCC JNC. Badcock is reappointed to represent the Second District Court of Appeal for a four-year term ending on June 30, 2023.

Victor Marrero Marrero, of Fort Lauderdale, is currently the Director of Risk Management for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. He previously served in risk management roles for public and private entities. Marrero is reappointed to represent the Fourth District Court of Appeal for a four-year term ending on June 30, 2023.

Jeffry R. Jontz Jontz, of Winter Park, is currently Of Counsel at Fishback Dominick. Jontz practices in the area of commercial litigation, banking and creditor's rights. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Winter Park Public Library. Jontz is reappointed to represent the Fifth District Court of Appeal for the remainder of a four-year term ending on June 30, 2021.
