GOV. SCOTT ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS TO SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM

​TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Kevin F. Reilly as Legislative Affairs Director and William N. Spicola asGeneral Counsel beginning April 6, 2016.


Governor Scott said, “Kevin has done a great job building relationships throughout his many roles working with the Florida Legislature and has extensive experience navigating Florida's legislative process. He was part of my team when I first ran in 2010, and I am confident he will work hard to continue our goal of making Florida the best place for families to succeed.”


Reilly has served as Deputy Staff Director to the Office of the Majority Leader in the Florida House of Representatives since November 2014. Prior to this role, Reilly was the Legislative Affairs Director at the Florida Commission on Offender Review. He also served as the Legislative Affairs Director at the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and as a legislative assistant in the Florida House of Representatives. Reilly began his career as a regional staff director on Governor Scott's 2010 campaign. He earned his bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Florida.


Governor Scott continued, “Will has been a great asset to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation and has worked with my office on many key issues affecting our state. He has a tremendous amount of legal experience and I look forward to his continued success as the General Counsel in my office. He will be a valuable team member on our mission to make Florida first for jobs.”


Spicola has served as the General Counsel at the Department of Business (DBPR) and Professional Regulation since January 2015. He has also served in numerous roles throughout DPBR including Director of the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco and the Chief Attorney in the Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering. Spicola previously worked as a Senior Attorney at the Office of Insurance Regulation from 2012 to 2013. Spicola also served as an Assistant State Attorney in the 2nd Judicial Circuit of Florida. He earned his bachelor's and law degree from the University of Florida.
